Lana Manganiello is the founder and CEO of Practice Growth Partner, a legal marketing strategy, business development, and fractional CMO consultancy that advises lawyers and law firms on profitable, client-centered growth. Her work sits at the intersection of business development, professional reputation, client experience, technology, data, and process. She translates ambitious goals into practical systems that lawyers can use consistently and firms can sustain.
With nearly two decades of experience in professional-services business development and almost a decade concentrated in legal services, Manganiello has advised AmLaw 200 firms, highly specialized boutiques, practice groups, new firm founders, established partners, and emerging lawyers. Before founding Practice Growth Partner in 2024, she spent seven years as Managing Director of Equinox Strategy Partners, a consulting firm serving law firm clients across the United States.
Manganiello's work spans strategy through execution. She has designed and led firmwide business development and attorney development programs, built and expanded industry teams, supported lateral partner integration, created client and referral development systems, and developed visibility initiatives grounded in real experience. As a fractional CMO, she provides boutique firms with strategic direction, operational structure, and hands-on implementation to clarify market focus, articulate sophisticated work, strengthen professional credibility, earn meaningful third-party recognition, and convert relationships into a consistent pipeline of opportunity.
Her engagements have included launching new law firms and practice lines; positioning boutiques spun out of Big Law; coaching attorneys through partnership and major career transitions; developing representative matters, website content, thought leadership, media opportunities, award submissions, and referral outreach; and building repeatable systems for planning, accountability, and follow-through. This work has contributed to stronger books of business, new partnership opportunities, higher-value matters, greater professional visibility, and practices that more closely reflect each lawyer's strengths, values, and ambitions.
Manganiello also advises law firms on the economics and organizational design of legal service delivery. She brings together client needs, lawyer behavior, pricing strategy, legal spend data, and technology to address the questions shaping the profession: what clients are buying, how artificial intelligence changes delivery, how firms can translate efficiency into client value, and how structure and incentives can support deeper collaboration. Her work advances a more human, inclusive, and relationship-centered model of growth, strengthened by thoughtful technology and disciplined process.
Manganiello is the author of Careers in Business Law: Forging Your Path to Success, published by the American Bar Association in 2024. She writes regularly for leading legal and professional publications, including ABA Law Practice Magazine, Business Law Today, Bloomberg Law, Law360, JD Supra Perspectives, the Corporate and Business Law Journal, and The Rainmaking Magazine. Her recent work examines law firm economics, AI-enabled growth, legal spend analytics, client-centered service design, professional credibility in AI search, lateral integration, and the business development habits that give lawyers greater autonomy and career security.
A frequent speaker and educator, Manganiello has presented for the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, the True Value Partnering Institute, the California Lawyers Association, the International Trademark Association, the California Minority Counsel Program, Dominate Law, and managing partner forums. She is known for making complex growth and organizational questions practical, candid, and immediately useful.
Manganiello has been selected to the Lawdragon 100 Global Leaders in Legal Strategy & Consulting in 2023, 2024, and 2026. Her additional recognition includes the San Diego Business Journal's Women of Influence in Law in 2025 and 2026, the Los Angeles Business Journal's 2025 Women's Leadership Awards, the Los Angeles Times' 2025 Inspirational Women Forum & Leadership Awards, and recognition as a Los Angeles Times Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility Visionary. Consulting Magazine named her a Diversity Champion in its Women Leaders in Consulting program.
Her commitment to the profession extends to public service. Manganiello is a Board Member and Immediate Past President of Counsel for Justice, where she has contributed to governance, fundraising, strategic partnerships, and programs expanding access to legal services for survivors of domestic violence, veterans, immigrants, and other vulnerable communities. She previously served on the boards of the San Diego County Bar Foundation and the Legal Marketing Association's Western Region. She is based in San Diego and works with lawyers and law firms nationwide.
